So let’s start by saying that it’s perfectly natural for your hoo-ha to have a certain scent. Some vaginal odours also indicate some serious infections; like colour change and some amount of vaginal discharge.
So without wasting much time, we will describe some of the smells you should check out for to decide if you are in need of some serious treatment.
So in order to be healthy, the vaginal odours is based on the activities you dive into.
Example, after a hectic and intense work out session, you may notice a strong sweaty smell due to the moisture released by your sweat glands surrounding your vaginal area.
Now this is perfectly normal but if this scent is more intense than you expect it to be or you need to cover up the scent, then you need to seek medical attention because anything more musky and intolerable is an infection.
If your vaginal odour is a strong and fishy odour, it means you have an infection and are more likely to spread to others.
If this odour happens right after sex or it’s accompanied by a discharge, then you have bacterial vaginosis.
It is a condition caused by an overgrowth of bacteria which causes an upset in the vagina’s pH balance which can be easily cleared by usage of antibiotics.
Also, if you also notice a greenish discharge, itchy vagina and pain when you urinate, you have trichominiasis, who which is a sexually transmitted disease.
So you need to see your doctor for treatment and please, DO NOT RESORT TO DOUCHING because douching is linked to hormonal disruptions and a high risk of ovarian cancer.
Vaginal odours like this is caused by the use of condoms and lubricants which is more likely to result in a bleachy
Luckily this is normal and there’s nothing to worry about. All you need to do is change the type of condom and lubricant you use
Normally, every vagina has small traces and amounts of yeast in them.
But yeast infections can come up due to use of lubricants, spermicide, antibiotics and even with pregnant women.
So when you notice a bread-like vaginal odour and a cheesy discharge. All you need to do is inform your doctor.
Naturally yeast infections can be cured with the use of anti fungal medications.
Do you ever notice some type of metal or tin like scent coming from your vagina when you have your period? If yes, do not be alarmed.
When you have your menstrual period, the blood usually mixes with the natural state of your vagina which gives off the metallic scent. So its totally normal.
Naturally, dieting has a very huge effect on the teste and scent of your vagina.
Example eating citrus fruits like oranges or pineapples are known and recommended to sweeten the taste and give a pleasant aroma to your vaginal fluids.
Now on the other hand, when you eat foods like onions and garlic, you tend to develop bad and unpleasant scents and tastes of your vagina.
So if one tends to notice some unpleasant scents, try changing your dietary plans.
So in conclusion, vaginal odours vary alot but one should always be attentive to these odours.
